What Did You Do This Summer?

Image
If you are looking for the Back To School Cricut Crawl please click HERE  or keep scrolling down to the next post. This week it's all about saying goodbye to summer and to my term as DT on Cookin With Cricut . Such a bittersweet moment in so many ways. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time on CWC and plan to continue on in participation and maybe even return next term if they'll have me back :)  So, we are telling everyone via paper crafting what we did this summer. I don't know about you but my family loves to go camping and we definitely did a lot of that. This layout doesn't represent this year's camping trips, however, because I'm still a year behind - so this is last summer. So, check out my layout for a taste of what I did this (last) summer. I used the Campin Critter's Cricut Cartridge to create this layout. I absolutely love this cartridge, it is so adorable. Just check out these great images that I used on the layout! Now upload your creation to

Thank You Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to Cooking With Cricut’s very special SURPRISE “Thank You” Blog Hop. Why is it so special? There are a couple of reasons! The first reason -- it is our 100th Cooking With Cricut challenge and the second (and most important) is to thank our wonderful leader and “Executive Chef” Melinda Beltran. Melin started the Cooking With Cricut challenges in October 2010 to encourage crafters to find new and different ways to use their Cricut cartridges. And she has accomplished that and so much more! She has given scores of crafters a place on her Design Teams which quickly turned into a sisterhood of women, who care for each other; who encourage each other; who lift each other and their families up in prayer; and who have shared their hearts and their art through many outreach projects. So this is our SURPRISE “Thank You” tribute to our beloved Melin! If you came from  Charlotte's blog ,  you’re in the right place! If you’ve joined us in mid-hop and would like to start at the beginni

Thanks a Latte and a Gyspy Welding Tip

Image
Just for fun, I was using my Love You A Latte Cricut Cartridge and decided to make a quick thank you card, since I'm getting low in my stash of cards. Check it out. I used my gypsy to weld the two coffee cups together to create the card and then proceeded with the layers as usual. I used Just Because Cards Cricut Cartridge to cut out the "Thanks a" to go before the "latte". Simple and to the point, but totally cute! Here's a gyspy tip for creating shape cards:  On the same layout page screen copy your image (the coffee cup) and then place the second image directly over the orginal. Then using the inverted image button on the advanced editing options turn it upside down. Now use your arrows to move the image down (down only or side only depending how you want your card to open). When it gets to where you want it to fold then stop and group the images together, then weld them. This is the easiest way to get your images to match best when you go to clo

Summer Vacation!

Image
Bitten By The Bug 2 has another fun challenge out this week.  Love their challenges - I'm on a Cricut kick so why wouldn't I? Oh wait, I'm always on a Cricut kick! :) This week the challenge is to use some sort of vacation cut on our entry projects. Well my entire project is a Cricut cut, as it turns out.  This tent comes from the Camping Critters Cricut Cartridge and the paper comes from the DCWV The Green Stack. I loved how fun this was to put together. It was pretty easy so I decided to make two more. My kids both thought that they should have one for each of their rooms to play with. See their's below.

National Tooth Fairy Day

Image
Hello all, it's time for another awesome challenge over at Fantabulous Cricut !   This week we are celebrating National Tooth Fairy Day.  Did you know that there was such a thing? I did not, but hey why not? This week I had the awesome opportunity to work with some stamps from Jaded Blossom , who also happens to be our sponsor for this weeks challenge. This stamp was way too cute and I'm excited to show you my project!  Check it out:  I decided to make a Tooth Deposit Box for when my daughter begins to loose her teeth, which is right around the corner. When she has a tooth come out she can put it here instead of underneath her pillow and then in the morning she can see what the tooth fairy left her.  The box came from the Tags, Bags, and Boxes Cricut Cartridge. I choose to cut the matchbox off page 123 at 4" and then the inside of the box on page 124 at 3.9".  The large tooth on the front of the box comes from the A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge and I

A New Craftroom and a Scrapbooking Retreat Layout

So, I decided I needed a bit more room in my craftroom so it was time rearrange. Check it out! Before: Cramped! During: Mess! The Results: Yay! And, sticking with the scrapbooking theme here is a layout with pics from a scrapbooking retreat I went on last year with some awesome girlfriends! The titles and the journaling card come from the following cartridges: Lovely Floral (Paper Diva and Scrap Queen) Home Decor (Create) Mini Monograms (Journal base) Disney's Happily Ever After (Scissors) Thanks for visiting my blog today, have a wonderful week!

Back to School

Image
Well, it's time to get ready for school and what a different year this will be for me and my family. My daughter is now in Kindergarten and offically began her Kindergarten year yesterday. It's amazing how quickly life goes and the kids grow up. I feel so sad and amazed by her at the same time. I can't believe I have child in school now! A new chapter has definitely begun! Well, this week at Cookin With Cricut it's all about school. I decided to make a shape card, check it out below. I thought that this card would be fun as a birthday card for my father n law (shhhh don't tell him). He used to drive buses for a living before he retired. I used my gypsy to take the bus off the Nate's ABC's Cricut Cartridge and weld it together with a second bus to create a card. Your turn, upload your Back to School creation to Cookin With Cricut!

Elephantly Speaking

Image
This week over at Bitten By The Bug 2 the challenge is to create a project using an elephant from any cartridge of our choosing. Fun! This was an easy choice, I just loved the elephant on Nate's ABC's, so adorable! Using my gyspy I welded two of the elephant images together to create the card. I used some pattern paper from DCWV's The Green Stack (on of my favorites) to make my elephant. Inside the card I used a stamp from Clear Dollar Stamps  for my sentiment "Keep on trunkin". I, also, embossed it for a little added fun. I hope you enjoyed my card, thanks for a great challenge this week!

Easel Card Blog Hop

Image
Welcome to the Easel Card Blog Hop! This will be a fun filled day of hopping through a great lineup to see some awesome easel cards.  Each blogger is completing an easel card to show you, each with  her own style and flair.  I am so excited about this hop, because I find easel cards a challenge. And, I love a challenge. If you have just come from Melissa's blog  you are in the right place. If you are just arriving and would like to start from the beginning of the line up go to Ashley's blog .  So now it's time to scroll on down to see my easel card! This was a fun card to make. I saw this card on Pintrest , which lead me to a fabulous blog, addINKtive designs . I used her easel card as inspiration for mine. To make my card I used DCWV paper from the All Dressed Up stack and Gypsy Wanderings to create my sentiment base and my pretty flower. A little bit of glitter and a fun embossed stamp and viola!  Ok confession, not so easy this was actually my second attempt at an

This week I decided to enter a challenge over at a challenge blog that I just rediscovered, Bitten By The Bug 2 , and I'm very excited about! The challenge there this week is create a project that has a hot air balloon or an airplane on it. I do not have any cartridges with a hot air balloon so I decided to go with the airplane. Here is my card with an airplane on it. The base of the card comes from the Graphically Speaking Cricut Cartridge. The circle shadow base of the globe was welded on my gypsy to create the card and then I used pattern paper from DCWV Safari Chic Matstack to create the globe affect. The airplane comes from the Wall Decor and More Cricut Cartridge. Inside the card I stamped and embossed on of my favorite scriptures to go along with the Card for it's sentiment. "He shall give the Angels charge over thee." Psalm 91:11 Thank you BBTB2 for a great challenge this week!

It's that time of the week again where we have a Fantabulous Challenge from Fantabulous Cricut . This weeks challenge is to make a project with a water theme (pool, beach, waterpark, etc). I had the priviledge of working with some fantastic product from our sponsers this week Canvas Corp . Their paper is amazing to work with, they have some the best quality paper that I have seen! I worked with "Beach Collection". http ://canvascorp.com/ See my project below: For this layout I used Accent Essentials, Indi Art, and Tags, Bags, and Boxes. The cloud comes from the Indi Art Cricut Cartridge and the swirl comes from the Accent Essentials Cricut Cartridge. Paper Used: White on Kraft Chevron Blue and Ivory Swirl Black and Kraft Beach Sampler (Beach Sentiment) Corkboard All the paper came from Canvas Corp 's  "Beach Collection". Clower views of the layout are below.  Now, it's your turn, go and upload your project t
